Wrapped Whips Liability Waiver
Vinyl Wrap Service Agreement
A vehicle wrap is an intricate process involving many detailed steps, each requiring expert craftsmanship and full attention. While your vehicle is at Wrapped Whips, our priority is to return it to you promptly with a flawless wrap. To maintain the highest quality standards, it's important that we both understand and agree to the following. Thank you for choosing Wrapped Whips!
- We both understand that Wrapped Whips may need to keep my vehicle for up to 7 business days to ensure the highest quality installation.
- We understand that a wrap is not the same as a paint job and, in rare cases, may have overlapping seams, relief cuts, or other visible signs of being vinyl. We will always strive to place seams in the least noticeable locations possible.
- I understand that if my vehicle has paint or body damage, is excessively dirty, or has a weak clear coat, Wrapped Whips will not be held responsible for any future lifting or adhesive failure that may occur.
- I understand that the final wrap may vary slightly from proofs due to vehicle curvature, obstacles, or other factors outside of our control.
- I understand that I will incur a $150 per hour charge for Wrapped Whips to remove existing graphics or perform heavy cleaning on my vehicle.
- I understand that my vehicle will not be released from Wrapped Whips until full payment has been made.
- If your vehicle has been ceramic coated, please notify Wrapped Whips as soon as possible, as ceramic coatings can cause issues with vinyl adhesion.
- I understand that Wrapped Whips is not responsible for any items lost or stolen from my vehicle while it is in their possession.
- I understand that all sales are final. I will not attempt charge-backs, stop payments, or request refunds.
Vehicles must be completely clean and dry before installation. A wrap can be installed perfectly, but even a small amount of water, dust, or an incorrect move with the squeegee can result in needing to remove, reprint, and reinstall the panel. The process cannot be rushed, and by the time the installer finishes, they will have handled nearly every inch of your vehicle multiple times.
Paint repairs can be tricky, and in some cases, it may be difficult for us to determine if the vehicle has been previously touched-up, repainted, or wet sanded, which could affect the paint's adhesion. For this reason, Wrapped Whips is not liable for any damage to the paint or clear coat, including during the removal of a wrap.
Today's vehicle paint is thinner than it was 10+ years ago, meaning there is a higher risk of paint lifting when removing a wrap, especially if it's past its warranty period. We will take steps to minimize damage, but some paint may come off with the wrap due to factors that even the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) cannot control.
Wrapped Whips passes on the manufacturer's warranty for the products used in your wrap. If the manufacturer denies a warranty claim, Wrapped Whips is not responsible for any further warranty claims.
Paint Protection Film Installation Agreement
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is an excellent way to protect your investment, serving as a sacrificial layer that guards against rock chips, road debris, and environmental factors. However, it does not eliminate all risk of damage. This agreement is designed to clarify some lesser-known aspects of PPF installation. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
Curing Process
Your newly installed PPF is applied using a water-based solution similar to window tint. After installation, small pockets of water may be trapped in the film and will dry out over the course of 3-4 weeks, depending on weather conditions. Please refrain from washing your vehicle for one week after installation. If possible, bring your vehicle back in two weeks for an inspection to ensure the PPF has adhered properly.
Installation
PPF is typically installed using a pre-cut kit generated by our plotter to ensure proper coverage and reduce the need for hand cutting. However, some custom cuts may be necessary to accommodate unique vehicle contours. Extreme vehicle curves may require relief cuts to ensure long-term protection. We aim to place these relief cuts in the least visible areas, but this may not always be possible.
Certain areas of the vehicle may show visible edges where PPF ends, especially in tight spaces (e.g., where the front bumper meets the fender). These areas cannot be wrapped fully around the edge due to friction that could cause the PPF to lift.
If your vehicle has been ceramic coated, please notify us before installation, as the coating can interfere with the bond between the PPF and the surface. Pre-existing rock chips or damage will result in a slight air gap around the impacted area, which may be more visible on darker-colored vehicles.
Matte PPF
Matte PPF installations require additional custom cutting to ensure sufficient coverage and minimize visible base color. Some areas will have seams, especially on bumpers and areas with extreme contours, but these are necessary to maintain long-term durability without overstretching the film.
Repainted Surfaces
If your vehicle has been repainted, please inform us. Aftermarket paint typically has lower adhesion than OEM paint, which could pose a problem during both installation and removal. Wrapped Whips is not responsible for any issues arising from aftermarket paint.
If your vehicle has recently been resprayed, please check with the body shop about recommended cure times before PPF installation. Installing PPF before the paint has fully cured may result in bubbling or other issues as the paint continues to off-gas during the curing process. Wrapped Whips is not liable for these issues.
Manufacturer Warranty & Lifespan of PPF
Our PPF comes with a manufacturer warranty covering defects such as bubbling, peeling, pitting, yellowing, delaminating, and cracking for up to 10 years. If any of these issues occur, please bring your vehicle to Wrapped Whips or another authorized dealer for warranty processing. We recommend scheduling an inspection at the 8-year mark to assess the PPF's condition and determine when it should be removed. PPF removal after the 10-year mark may result in additional risks and costs.
Window Tint Installation Agreement
Window tint enhances both the appearance and comfort of your vehicle, but it's important to be aware of certain factors. This agreement clarifies some of these aspects. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Curing Time
Your window tint can take up to 3 weeks to fully adhere to the glass, depending on weather conditions. It is crucial not to roll the windows down within the first 48 hours to allow the film to set properly. During the first week, you may notice small water pockets or slight distortion in the film—this is normal as the adhesive dries out. These issues typically resolve within a few days, but if any problems persist after 3 weeks, please let us know.
Imperfections
While we aim for flawless installations, it's important to understand that some degree of dust contamination or minor imperfections can occur with window film application. Additionally, any pre-existing flaws, scratches, or metal deposits on the glass will likely become more noticeable once the tint is applied.
Dot Matrix
Dot matrix is the raised area around the edges of some windows, typically on the rear glass. The tint may adhere to these dots instead of the glass, causing a silver appearance. This is normal and cannot be avoided.
Harmonic Distortion
If you wear polarized sunglasses, you may notice certain visual anomalies (e.g., rainbows, lines, or marks) due to the tempering process of the glass. These are not defects but an inherent result of how the glass interacts with the film.
Electrical Issues After Installation
Certain vehicle models have electrical systems located in the rear inner door panel, or below the front and rear windshield and may get damaged during the window tint installation process. As water is sprayed onto the window, these systems are exposed to moisture and water runoff. We use special tools to aid in mitigating these risks as much as possible, but certain vehicles are more at risk than others. Although we take precautions, we are not liable for any electrical damage.
Legal Compliance in Arizona
In Arizona, operating a vehicle with illegal window tint is a violation of Vehicle Code §28- 959.01. Wrapped Whips is not responsible for any legal issues, citations, or accidents resulting from the use of illegal tint. If you require removal or replacement due to illegal tint, there will be an additional fee.
Film Removal Service Agreements
Vinyl Wrap/PPF Removal Service Agreement
Removing vinyl or PPF comes with inherent risks, especially if the paint underneath is aged or weak. Wrapped Whips is not liable for any paint lifting, clear coat damage, scratches, discoloration, or any other issues caused by or visible after removal. We will take every precaution to minimize these risks, but damage may occur, particularly if adhesive promoters were used during installation. Removal services are charged at $150 per hour, and a precise estimate cannot be provided until the removal is complete.
Window Tint Removal Service Agreement
Removing window tint carries risks, especially for rear windows with defroster lines or vehicles with infrared coatings. These systems can be damaged during the removal process. While we take all precautions to minimize risks, Wrapped Whips is not liable for any damage to defroster lines, coatings, or glass. Window tint removal is priced at $35 per side window, $70 for a windshield and rear window. An accurate estimate cannot be provided until the work is completed.
Ceramic Coating Expectation Agreement
Protection
Ceramic coating is not paint protection film and does not protect against rock chips, nor does it provide significant protection against scratches. Some installers make exaggerated claims about the level of protection provided, and at Wrapped Whips, we caution you to approach such claims with knowledge.
Ceramic coating is primarily used for easier cleaning, UV protection, and similar benefits. It should not be relied upon to prevent rock chips or other paint hazards. Bird droppings, bug splatter, and hard water spots still need to be addressed immediately, or they can etch the paint.
Paint Enhancement/Correction
We include paint correction ($300 Value) in the cost of our ceramic coating packages. We will ask you to point out any specific trouble areas on your paint and share your thoughts on the overall condition of the paint.
Factory Paint
Recent bodywork or paint repairs can create issues when applying ceramic coatings. Depending on how the paint was cured and the curing process for the ceramic coating, it may prevent off-gassing from the paint, which can lead to solvent pop or other issues. This does NOT apply to OEM/factory paint.
Please inform us if you've had any body or paint work completed. Many new vehicles are damaged during shipping and are poorly touched up by dealerships before being listed for sale. We make every effort to identify these touch-ups before starting any work and will notify you if we find them.
Minor Issues
We may discover minor issues during the correction and preparation process. We will keep you informed throughout the process. In the past, we used a pre-inspection form, but often vehicles were too dirty or the outdoor lighting concealed issues that only became visible indoors (for example, discovering a repainted panel). We strive for transparency, and you can check our Google reviews to see that we are always honest with you about any damage we find. Also, please note that even factory/OEM paint can have imperfections like runs or debris trapped under the clear coat.
Perfection (or Lack Thereof)
We aim to make your paint look as flawless as possible to the naked eye while preserving the longevity of the clear coat. Please understand that not all scratches can be removed without risking damage to the clear coat. There is no such thing as perfect paint, just as there is no perfect paint protection film installation. We do our best to achieve a pristine result while balancing the risks of compromising your clear coat or potentially causing long-term issues.
Automatic Car Washes
Using brush-based automatic car washes or waxing the vehicle after applying ceramic coating will negatively affect the coating's longevity and performance. The brushes can also scratch the paint.
No ceramic coating company, including Wrapped Whips, can warranty any issues caused by automatic car washes.
Washing Your Car
Ceramic coating is not a self-cleaning product. While applying ceramic coating is an excellent decision to enhance the gloss of your vehicle, provide UV protection, and make cleaning easier (such as removing bug splatter), the vehicle will still get dirty. Wheels will still accumulate brake dust. Ceramic coating helps make it easier to remove contaminants, but it does NOT mean your car is maintenance-free. Water spots, bug splatter, bird droppings, tar, acid, tree sap, and similar contaminants can still etch the paint if not promptly cleaned or avoided.
Media Release
Unless otherwise discussed, you authorize Wrapped Whips to use photos of your vehicle on social media, YouTube, and in advertisements.
